Benefits of lifting for women

Apart from feeling like a badass, there's several benefits that come with weightlifting...

In no particular order, here's a few of the other gains you get from shifting them Kg's.

Boost your mood + drop your stress levels

During exercise, we get an endorphin dump which improves our mood, relaxes us + even makes us more confident! Hence why we put off rest day...exercise can become our go-to "feel good" habit!

Reduce your risk of Osteoporosis

In America, of the 10 million people with Osteoporosis, 80% are women. Women are most at risk + weight training can significantly reduce this risk. The stress placed on the body during weightlifting causes constant adaptation of our bones + tissues, increasing our bone density.

Improved fat loss

When we lift, we build muscle. This increasing muscle mass increases the caloric needs of our bodies (boosted metabolism), this inturn increases our bodies ability to burn fat! #Fcardio

There's a tonne more to weightlifting that maxing out your deadlift, it can be one of the more varied + fun ways to get your workouts in. No more 75 minutes on the treadmill to 'Stay in shape'. Lifting is 100% more fun + 100% less gross ass cardio.

"But I don't want to get bulky"

Luckily, for all you instant experts out there, building large amounts of muscle is incredibly difficult + takes years.

Women also have around 10% of the testosterone that men have...Meaning, while we do get very strong, it does still take us a lot longer to build the same amount of muscle mass.

Trust me, I've been trying to get a little "bulky" for years...to no avail!

So unplug that bloody treadmill, put the runners away, we're off to throw down the iron!
