Hands up if you've use Myfitnesspal for 2 days, got obsessed + overwhelmed then given up?
While it's a super useful app that I love, I love it when I use it in a way that works for me, not necessarily how it's intended to be used.
We are humans, let's make that clear. We are not perfect, streamline robots that can follow a plan rigidly day in day out.
The way I use MFP is a more flexible, life-friendly way that is much more conducive to overall success!
Here's my Do's + Don'ts
Do:
• Work with someone to set Calorie goals + macro aims - put these into your app.
• Set your height, weight + activity levels correctly.
• Start with rough weights/amounts of foods use packets to 'guestimate'.
• Meal prep as much as possible (Lunch, Snacks) etc.
Don't:
• Set ridiculous calorie aims.
• Get too obsessed - if you have cake out don't freak out!
• Start living by the app.
• Compare what/how you eat to anyone else, your body is unique!
Use the app as a guide not a rigid set of rules! If you take the fun out of anything, you will stop doing it.
