Much like our biscuit preferences, we all have our favourite (+ least favourite) exercises!
BUT WHICH, I hear you cry, is the best exercise?!
There's no way I could pick just one to crown so let's go for:
3 exercises I'd take with me to a deserted island & why...
1. Goblet Squats
These bad boys are great for the glutes, the core + that upper thoracic (it's your upper back, not a type of dinosaur). By holding that weight in the front rack position you're forcing your core to hold you upright + utilising that extension in the upper back (which is great for your posture) while also getting those #glutesforjesus. I like to go for 8 reps with a nice heavy DB/KB in the hands!
2. Weighted Walking Lunges
As well as being the devil's work, these are GREAT for single leg strength, balance + coordination, all 3 of which everyone should work on! Go lighter on these until you have perfected your lunge else you will twinge your quads!
3. Get ups
This cheeky number will humble even the mightiest of warrior women! Also know as the Turkish Get Up this is an exercise for gladiators...okay I made that up HOWEVER, you will feel like one when you triumphantly stand up with a KB above your head like some well earned trophy!
The trick with these is breaking it down into easy steps + getting confident in the movement before adding weight.
These are 3 exercises I highly recommend adding to your workout routine + if you happen to be cursed with only 3 exercises forever, try these on for size!
