Something that has been vilified in diet culture, is fats...
But whyyyyy?!
Did you know...our brains are 60% fat! So why would we avoid fats?!

Role of fats in the body:
Supports cell growth
Helps absorption of nutrients
Keeps blood pressure normal
Acts as an energy store
Protects vital organs
You know...sort of important stuff, huh?
For women especially, fat is an important element when it comes to our hormones. Consuming too little fat can impede your bodies production of Progesterone + Estrogen (spoiler, we need these).
Good Fats vs Not So Good Fats
So...there's good fats + less than good fats, some are great for your body, brain + hormones, some are terrible for them.
Good Fats
Olive oil
Coconut oil
Avocado
Chia Seeds
Walnuts (most nuts)
Salmon
Sardines
Eggs
Peanut Butter
*Go organic where possible
Not Great Fats
Hydrogenated oils
Seed oils (sunflower, rapeseed etc)
Fried foods (beige food)

When to eat fats?
You want every meal you eat to be complete! You want Carbs, Fats + Proteins in every meal - the only time you want to avoid a meal with ample fats is prior to a workout + perhaps if you're eating a meal close to bedtime...Other than that, go wild!
So get them good fats in beautiful people + your body will thank you!
