Every year we do the same thing...smash them choccies at Christmas right up until th 31st...then we pretend we're going to overhaul our e n t i r e lives the next day?! Successfully?!
And to our surprise... 90% of us fail our resolutions by January 19th?! Shocker....
Add to this that January is the very depths of winter...the days are so short, it's cold, it's wet + we spent our dolla at Christmas...this is not a recipe for motivation....
To me, it makes no logical sense to try + overhaul our habits immediately after Christmas + deep in winter, when our natural instincts are introspection, retreat + hibernation.
Instead, I put it to my wonderful gang, that we rebel! We leave January as a month to be kind to ourselves, to contemplate the changes we'd like to see, but to also see it as a grace period.
February is where the magic happens...the days get longer, the sun comes out (ish)...life gets good again.
So instead of tormenting yourself about January changes, make a February plan!
Write your goals down
Make small changes now (increase your steps, eat some veggies)
Find a gym buddy to "restart" with you!
Test out some new gyms
Sort out a program to follow
