Training for kids

Did you know, 1-1 sessions aren't just for adults. Personal training for kids is super beneficial in so many ways.

Here's a few:

Confidence

A lot of kids struggle with confidence, especially when it comes to moving their bodies + trying new things. I find sports in general + focused training can really push kids, encouraging them to leave their comfort zone. 1-1 sessions can challenge them in a safe environment, showing them what they are capable of + how to use thier bodies.

Posture

Children are born with natural mobility + flexibility. They run around endlessly everyday...until they go to school, where sitting for up to 6 hours a day becomes the norm...with this comes with a whole host of postural changes. Extended periods of sitting change their posture + can lead to imbalances.

Training can combat this + with certain movements we can offset these changes.

Ability

School P.E lessons are the source of many childhood nightmares + can actually put a lot of kids off sports unnecessarily. 1-1 sessions can help them enjoy sports, encourage them to find a way of moving that they enjoy!

As kids grow so fast, their ability to use their body changes really quickly. It's important that they go into their teens/early adulthood with strong posture + confident in their body. Whether they're super into sport or absolutely hate it, 1-1 sessions can be a great way for them to progress with movement!

Examples of session structure:

  • 10 minute warm up

  • 10 minutes balance/posture focused movements

  • 10 minutes strength based movements

  • 15 minutes game-based activity

*This is based on a 45 minute session - different kids require different structures but this is a blanket session.

If your child wants to try a session but doesn't want to go it alone, get them to try a session with you, or alternatively, all parents are welcome to stay throughout the session.
