What Is The Best Time

Now just like anything, we are all different! This is also true for what time of day we like to hit the gym - some of us are morning people, some of us are evening bats!

But which is better? Will I see more results with a morning session or an afternoon session?

Let's take a look...

Morning sessions

Pros:

  • You start your day with a win.

  • The gym will be quieter the earlier you go.

  • You'll be more productive at work.

  • You get you time before work.

Cons:

  • It takes a while to wake up, you may feel tired.

  • You may skip breakfast.

  • You might hit snooze on that alarm.

  • Dark mornings in winter make it harder.

Afternoon sessions:

Pros:

  • You can burn off stress after work.

  • You might have more energy than the morning.

  • It's easier to take a gym buddy!

Cons:

  • You may be more tired from work.

  • It might be busier at the gym.

  • You need to fuel wisely between lunch and dinner.

  • Sunny summer evenings can be hard to miss for the gym.

In summary, while there is some science to suggest that mornings are better for training, it is ultimately a personal choice. You need to find a time of day that suits your schedule, your body + your preferences. The only difference to your gains will be picking a time that enables you to stick to your training consistently!
