How well do you sleep?!

It's a fact that sleep is the best thing on earth - but it's important to remember it's quality as well as quantity that matters.

*spoiler* not all of us are nailing the whole quality aspect...

Poor sleep on a regular basis can severely impact your hormone health as well as your mental health + performance...It can also be an indicator of a few things, namely stress levels.

Here's 3 things you can do to improve your snooze time:

1. Avoid big meals after 7pm

To your body - if we're eating - it's go time... your body assumes we're fuelling to go do something, when in reality we're binging The Witcher with a tub of Ben + Jerrys like adults!

By avoiding big meals after 7pm we're giving our bodies a chance to rest + digest.

2. No screens 2hrs before bed

Ludicrous idea I know - I ain't sleeping without atleast an hour of fail videos to get me off to sleep...BUT if you can, try reading or drawing for the last hour before bed. Failing that, set your laptop/TV/Phone screen to a reading mode/night mode or turn the brightness all the way down to avoid the screentime impacting your sleep.

3. White noise

I don't know what your jam is BUT I do know that noise + sleep are not friends...for me, even slight noises can disturb me from a dreamy slumber. I've found that background noise cuts down on the chances of me waking! Currently, it's a fan than keeps me deep in the land of nod but who doesn't love a cheeky "Thunderstorm" whitenoise video to drift off to?!

If you have trouble drifting off try these natural aids to get you dreaming quicker:
